Dr. Ken Fern, BSc, MD, FRCSC, CIME

Dr. Fern is an Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Fern has been actively involved in numerous research activities and has published research in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Fern is the only subspecialty trained spinal surgeon in the Durham region. Dr. Fern is dedicated to providing the best medical care possible to people afflicted and disabled with spinal problems. He is now able to offer treatment to patients who are not candidates for surgery. Through the Durham Spinal Decompression Centre, he is able to offer a new state of the art treatment. He pre-screens patients at the Centre and oversees the use of the revolutionary DRX-9000 machine to provide a non-surgical and non-invasive approach to spinal decompression through computer controlled motorized spinal traction. He works closely with the dedicated staff to provide solutions and pain relief for chronic spinal problems.

Dr. Mary Ann Goldhawk, DC, C.I.C.E., Diplomate, Canadian Academy of Pain Management

Dr. Mary Ann Goldhawk has over 30 years experience in the field of chiropractic. She is the clinic director of Whitby Chiropractic and Integrated Health Services and Co-Director of the clinic’s newest endeavor Durham Spinal Decompression Centre. During her illustrious career, Dr. Goldhawk has hosted her own healthcare talk show called “Health Living” and been the guest speaker at many corporate, charity and education institutions. The motto of Dr. Goldhawk’s clinic is “Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence In All We Do”.

Chris Agaton, BScK, RMT, CK

Chris is a Registered Massage Therapist and Kinesiologist and has been working at Whitby Chiropractic and Integrated Health Services since 2005. He has experience in treating clients with various conditions such as work related injuries and sporting injuries and specializes in deep tissue massage and postural dysfunctions. Chris has completed a degree in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University and has over 12 years experience working with various sports teams as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Athletic Therapist. He combines this knowledge with massage therapy to help his clients heal and prevent injuries. He is certified in the technique of Myofascial Release and also holds certifications as a Certified Kinesiologist, Certified Arcon Evaluator and Certified Fitness Consultant.
